All cancelled classes will give credits toward to next semester.

The ECBC Mandarin School has been established since September 1996. The goals of the school are:

  • To pass on the rich Chinese cultural heritage to the next generation of Chinese in Canada.

  • To stimulate interest in studying Chinese and to improve skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through practical and interesting approaches. Our curriculum is compatible to those published by the BC ministry of education. Classes also include Chinese cultural arts and craft, Chinese essay writing and Mandarin Challenge and Provincial Exam Preparation.

  • To provide a curriculum that is multidimensional, with academic, cultural and spiritual aspects. Christianity is introduced to help understand the meaning of life.

Classes commence on the second Saturday of September from 9:45 AM to 12:15 PM. The first term is from September to January. The second term is from February to June.

This year we have 12 staff members. The total enrollment is approximately 80 students, divided into 8 different classes.

"Conversation & Basic Vocabulary Recognition” class is also available for adults. Please contact church office for additional information.
